Last Sunday, Jean and I attended a wedding at the National Arts Center. This glass chandelier filled the ceiling of the salon we had dinner in. Congratulations on a great wedding Arnie and Judy.

This Friday is Home Alone at the Neelin compound south of Ottawa. For some reason, this artpiece outside the NAC reminds me of our annual binge except the guy on the left would be shaking his head in amazement at the stuff grown men will do and call fun.

Is there a cleat missing or is it the boat?

Jean an I spent a brief hour on one of the beaches at Wasaga Beach a couple of weeks ago. It was the first time I'd ever been there and I bet it's a blast (and crowded) on a really hot long weekend. Maybe it was Elvisfest in Collingwood but the beach was empty at 7 on a Friday.

I never get tired of the view from the end of Rob's dock. That's my property about a 500 metres onshore the other side.

Chris Robinson of the Black Crowes in a magnificent, powerful performance tonight at Bluesfest. Absolutely the best concert I've heard in years. What a band!!!!!

Bluesfest has started and I'm hoping to get a few good pictures over the next week. This is the main stage about an hour before the start of Feist on Friday night...a rather tame start to the fest. Steely Dan was Saturday's headliner but the Lucinda Williams show was the highlight.

For those left stranded by the malfunctioning Fortuitious, a view of the Ottawa River from Crown Point on Canada Day. My buddy Brian is officially retired today and we got in a little advanced celebration on Tuesday at his place west of Ottawa.

This cardinal is a frequent visitor to my back yard. With a little practice, I can whistle something close to his call and that brings him running to see who's the strange bird on the deck.

Our white clamatis is down to two flowers but suddenly we've got new buds and a red flower emerging from the vine.

We picked up these beauties in Montreal on the weekend. Now to figure out where to plant them.

It's now the time of the roses in our garden. The only problem photographically is that they all face east, over the fence, toward my neighbour Alicia. I think it's because she talks to them more than I do.

Now my roses are starting to bloom. I must credit the former owners for leaving me a beautiful garden to work with.
