This is Rosie, our 12 year old Border Collie/Labrador mix.  We inherited her last August with the passing of Jean's father and she's got us trained like we've been her owners for her whole life.  If you're going out the door, you'd better have a good reason not to be bringing her...for a walk, for a drive...talk about bossy!  Here we are trying out my snowshoes.

Sorry about that...my photo description didn't post.  I was out on the deck after a recent rain and went to clear some cobwebs on the deck rail.  That's a 2 x 4 you're looking at with hundreds of tiny spiders emerging from what was a 1 inch diameter cluster...I guess they're garden spiders.

The Clamatis exploded over the weekend, the most flowers we've had in six years.  Now the question is how long they will last.  We've seen them last weeks and, a couple of years,be gone in five or six days.

What a glorious day...the clamatis are flowering.

Looking through my photos from Hong Kong I found this one that, in so many ways, represents the new Chinese reality.

For my buddy who doesn't like the intensification of downtown Toronto. This is Hong Kong where I hear the average floor space of an apartment is around 600 sq. feet. Everything is 85 stories or higher, which is amazing because they still use bamboo scafforling to build them.

After watching the 2 ferries go back and forth to Bell Island every 20 minutes, we finally decided to go check out what was over there. In particular, I was interested in the cliffs at the far end of the island.

Other than the beach and landing area for the ferry, everything else is on top of the plateau.

There is no easy way to describe the height of these cliffs when you're standing ten feet from the edge. I threw a rock out from where Lasha and Tim are standing and I couldn't see it hit the water.
